FinStat was founded in 2012, and its first version was launched in 2013. The goal of this project was to create a web portal that will help people to assess the financial health of Slovak companies easily and for free.

Since the launch of FinStat, many data sources have been processed, which are analyzed and used to create a picture of individual companies. By combining data sources in one place, processing them, and analyzing the extracted data, a picture of the entire market is created simultaneously by Slovak companies, individual industries, and groups of entrepreneurs.

The most important data sources processed are the Commercial Gazette, the Commercial Register, the Trade Register, the Register of Financial Statements, the Register of Bankrupts, lists of debtors from insurance companies, lists of financial administration, and court decisions. Other data sources are also being worked on, with 4-6 new ones being added to FinStat annually.
